MEETING BETWEEN R.E.A. AND RETHYMNO DEPUTY REGIONAL GOVERNOR MAIRI LIONI

A courtesy meeting between the management of A.O. R.E.A. and
the Deputy Regional Governor of Rethymno, Ms. Mairi Lioni, was held in a
particularly warm and constructive atmosphere at her office at the Rethymno
Regional Unit.

The Region of Crete and the Rethymno Regional Unit have
consistently demonstrated, through their actions, that they stand by R.E.A.,
providing substantial support to the efforts being made to develop Women’s
Football. A characteristic example is the recent funding for the construction
of the new changing rooms at Sochora Stadium, an important intervention that
strengthens the area’s sports infrastructure and creates even better conditions
for the club’s players and academy.

R.E.A. was represented at the meeting by club president
Heraklis Manoukarakis, Board Member Gavriil Tsountanis and Press Officer Nikos
Tzanidakis. They expressed their warmest thanks to Ms. Lioni for her
longstanding support of sports in Rethymno, as well as for her immediate
response to every issue concerning the strengthening of local sports clubs and
infrastructure.

At the same time, they presented the work carried out by
R.E.A. in recent years, highlighting the team’s consistent presence in the top
tier of Greek Women’s Football, where it is now regarded as one of the
country’s leading clubs. Particular emphasis was placed on the club’s efforts
to develop the sport, strengthen its academies, nurture young female
footballers and proudly represent Rethymno’s sporting community at national
level.

The R.E.A. representatives requested the continuation and
further strengthening of the cooperation with the Region of Crete and the
Rethymno Regional Unit, in order to support the continued development of
Women’s Football and create even better opportunities and conditions for female
athletes in the region.

For her part, Ms. Mairi Lioni underlined the importance of
R.E.A.’s efforts to develop Women’s Football and promote Rethymno, while
expressing her willingness to continue supporting and assisting the club, to
the extent that this is possible and feasible, contributing to the further
development of the sport.
