“A DISPLAY OF HEART AND PRIDE: REA IS GROWING EVERY DAY”
With words full of pride, realism, and belief in the team’s future, REA’s coach spoke after the away match against PAOK. In his statements, he highlighted the players’ effort, the particular conditions of the game, and the team’s overall progress, while also sending a message of support and optimism for women’s football.
“I would like to congratulate both teams on the quality of the match. It was a game worthy of the standards and reputation of the two clubs.
We came aiming for a positive result, but in matches like these, a high level of performance is required throughout. Sport always has two sides—positive and negative outcomes.
What I take from today’s match is pride. The girls truly gave their all, especially from the moment we had to play with one player fewer, and despite that, we managed to get back into the game and equalize.
Our team has shown a very good image throughout the season, and the girls deserve a lot of credit for the effort they put in every day. REA is an organization that is evolving and will continue to grow day by day.
I hope that women’s football gains the place it deserves and that we see matches like this every week. It is particularly important that there were fans in the stadium, because that is the greatest satisfaction for all of us.
As for our team, we were unfortunate to have limited options, as we only had two substitutes available. Through the squad we have, we try to respond in every match, while also giving opportunities to the U17 players.
We showed that in both matches against PAOK. The standings never lie, and PAOK deservedly sits at the top, having consistently good results. From our side, we conceded some goals that we could have avoided—but that’s football.”
