REA delivered an impressive performance, especially in the second half, coming very close to a big victory. However, Panathinaikos equalized in the 92nd minute, setting the final score at 2-2.
Our team had a slow start and fell behind in the first half, when Poulio converted a penalty in the 40th minute to make it 0-1. Despite the setback, REA showed signs of reaction before halftime, coming close to equalizing in stoppage time when Ruzafa’s effort hit the post.
In the second half, the Rethymno side came out determined and completely changed the flow of the game. In the 49th minute, Bonnin created the chance and Ruzafa calmly finished to make it 1-1, giving momentum to our team.
The pressure continued, with REA dominating and creating several opportunities, eventually completing the comeback. In the 73rd minute, Ruzafa produced a brilliant individual effort, starting from midfield, driving forward and finishing with a superb strike to make it 2-1.
Our team managed the lead well, showing concentration and determination, but in the 92nd minute Panathinaikos managed to equalize through a direct free kick by Poulio, denying REA a well-deserved victory.
Despite the final result, REA showed character, quality, and strong reaction, delivering an excellent second-half performance and once again proving its strength.
