A.O. R.E.A.
is delighted to announce the appointment of Markos Klapsinos as the club’s
Academy Technical Director. At the same time, he will continue serving as Head
Coach of the U17 team, remaining a member of the REA family for a third
consecutive season.
Markos
Klapsinos has been one of the key figures behind the development and
competitive progress of Rethymno’s young female footballers in recent years,
through his systematic work, football knowledge, and daily commitment to the
club’s athletes.
The trust
shown by the REA administration is a natural continuation of the excellent work
he has accomplished within the club’s youth development structure. Under his
guidance, REA’s U17 team enjoyed a historic campaign during the 2024-25 season,
reaching the quarterfinals of the Greek National Championship and showcasing
the high-quality work being carried out within the Academy.
In his new
role as Technical Director, Markos Klapsinos will be responsible for
coordinating and further developing all youth departments of the club, with the
aim of creating the ideal conditions for the growth of young players and
strengthening the connection between the Academy and the first team.
The REA
family wishes Markos Klapsinos health, strength, and every success in his new
responsibilities.
MARKOS
KLAPSINOS: “OUR GOAL IS TO CREATE ONE OF THE TOP WOMEN’S FOOTBALL ACADEMIES IN
GREECE”
“REA’s
Academy has managed, in just a few years, to make a significant contribution to
the development of women’s football in our city and throughout Crete. It is a
great honor and pleasure for me to have been part of this effort over the last
two years.
I would
like to thank the club’s administration and everyone involved with the team for
the trust they have shown in me by assigning me the role of Academy Technical
Director for the upcoming season. REA is an organization built on vision,
values, and a clear development philosophy, and I am proud to be part of this
journey.
Our main
objective is the continuous improvement of both the quality of training and the
overall development environment for our players. Every day, we strive to
provide the girls with the best possible conditions so they can improve as
footballers while also developing strong values through sport.
At the same
time, we aim to bring even more young girls into women’s football, further
strengthening the foundations of our Academy. Through hard work, proper
organization, and belief in our plan, we aspire in the coming years to build
one of the leading women’s football academies in Greece.”
