DOMINANT
REA HIT FIVE AWAY FROM HOME AND TURN THEIR FOCUS TO THE CUP
With a commanding performance, plenty of flair and five
goals, REA secured an impressive 5–0 away victory over Nea Atromitou,
underlining their excellent current form.
Stelios Kozanidis’ side were in complete control throughout
the match, starting strongly from the opening minute and allowing the hosts no
room to react. With good spacing, quick ball circulation and high intensity in
both defence and attack, the Rethymno-based team created numerous chances,
missed clear opportunities and could easily have scored even more goals.
The scoring opened in the 1st minute, as Nigito won a
penalty and converted it confidently, setting the tone early. The pressure
continued and in the 18th minute the same player struck again, this time with a
header following a corner taken by Markoutsa, making it 0–2.
In the second half, REA increased the tempo even further and
effectively sealed the match in the 60th minute, when Bonnin finished off a
superb counter-attack. The French midfielder added a spectacular goal in the 78th
minute, raising the score to 0–4, before Renoux put the finishing touch in the 84th
minute, completing another exemplary team effort for the final 0–5.
Katergiannaki also played a key role, making crucial saves
to keep a clean sheet and cap a thoroughly convincing display.
With this victory, REA remain firmly in the top four of the
standings, while extending their unbeaten run to nine matches, showcasing the
consistency and depth that have defined their season so far.
Attention now turns exclusively to the second leg of the
Greek Women’s Cup quarter-finals, with REA travelling to Tripoli on Wednesday,
February 4, to face Asteras Tripolis, aiming to secure a place in the
semi-finals and achieve yet another historic milestone.
