In one of
the most dominant and complete performances in its history, REA celebrated a
monumental victory at the Rouf Stadium, defeating Panathinaikos 3-0 on Matchday
9 of the Greek Women’s First Division. A landmark win, a result that will be
remembered for years, as Stelios Kozanidis’ team “conquered” the home of a
historic club!
Just days
after the impressive 0-0 draw against undefeated PAOK, REA proved that this
team is not satisfied with words. From the opening minutes, the players fully
imposed their rhythm, displayed remarkable maturity, controlled the tempo,
moved the ball effortlessly, and could have scored even more goals—despite also
missing a penalty.
The scoring
opened in the 25th minute: Nigito converted from the penalty spot, Situma
made it 0–2 in the 51st minute with a superb finish after an exceptional cross
from Ruzafa, and Nigito sealed the triumph in the 82nd minute
with a powerful header for the final 0–3. All this, on a day when REA also
missed a penalty in the 49th minute.
With this
magnificent win, REA climbs to 5th place, surpassing Panathinaikos and
Volos NFC, proving emphatically that it belongs among the top teams in Greece.
Its progress is no coincidence—built step by step—but performances like today
speak for themselves.
The team
now has roughly two weeks until the next match, as it returns to action on
December 7th with a home game against Agia Paraskevi.
