R.E.A. A.O.
proudly announces the beginning of its collaboration with Gianna Douka, who
will take over the technical leadership of our team ahead of the 2026–27
season.
REA enters
a new era with one of the most important personalities in Greek women’s
football, as Gianna Douka brings outstanding experience both as a football
player and as a coach, along with a philosophy that fully aligns with the
vision and values of our club.
REA’s new
head coach has left her own mark on Greek women’s football, enjoying a
remarkable playing career in the Greek Women’s First Division with Ergotelis,
AE Aigina, and AE Glyfadas. For nearly a decade, she was also a key member of
the Greece Women’s National Team, participating in European and World Cup
competitions.
At the same
time, she possesses many years of coaching experience in the national
divisions, having worked successfully with Ergotelis, Avantes Chalkidas, as
well as in youth development programs, contributing significantly to the growth
of young athletes and the development of women’s football in Greece.
Gianna
Douka holds a UEFA A coaching license and has earned important certifications
and specializations in football and performance analysis, further strengthening
her coaching profile.
The REA family welcomes Gianna Douka and wishes her health,
strength, and many successes with our team.
GIANNA DOUKA: “REA HAS VISION, STABILITY, AND A FAMILY
MENTALITY”
“*I am extremely happy to take over the technical
leadership of REA. From my very first contact with the people of the club, I
felt how strongly they wanted this collaboration, and the way they approached
me left no room for second thoughts.*
*REA is a First Division team that in recent years has
shown stability, organization, and a clear plan — elements that perfectly match
my own philosophy. It is a club that looks every opponent in the eye, with a
management team that constantly stands by the squad and provides security and
support on every level, while also creating relationships that make a team
truly function like a family.*
*In recent years, REA has been pioneering women’s football
with steady and meaningful steps, without unnecessary extravagance. This
mentality is fully aligned with my own coaching identity and with the way I
believe a team should operate in order to achieve consistency and longevity
over time.*
*I would like to sincerely thank the club president, Mr.
Iraklis Manoukarakis, for the trust he has shown in me. I am confident that we
will have a professional and meaningful collaboration, with the goal of helping
REA remain competitive and continue taking steady steps toward even higher
objectives in every area*.”
