REA completed its fourth friendly match of the pre-season, securing a 3-1 victory over AO Aris’ U17 team at the Misiria Stadium, delivering a clearly improved performance and providing positive signs ahead of the continuation of the preparation period.
Gianna Douka’s team showed greater cohesion in its play, with good combinations, well-timed runs and improved ball circulation, creating several chances in front of the opposition goal. The defensive performance was also encouraging, with the centre-back partnership of Kobayashi and Nikopoulou showing significant progress and gradually developing the chemistry required.
REA took the lead in the 15th minute, when Markoutsá combined beautifully with Plakia, who found herself one-on-one with the goalkeeper and finished confidently to make it 0-1. AO Aris’ U17 team managed to equalise just before half-time, as A. Varouchas went through one-on-one in the 44th minute and made it 1-1.
REA continued to perform well in the second half and regained the lead in the 82nd minute. Kotsaki delivered a cross from the right and Situma rose to head the ball powerfully into the net for 1-2.
The final 1-3 came in the 90th minute. Markoutsá unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box, with the ball hitting the right post. Ruzafa reacted quickest to the rebound and found the back of the net, completing the scoring.
It is worth noting that Panteri, Bonnin and Chau missed yet another friendly due to injuries, while Kelaidi was also unavailable due to prior commitments.
