REA…RA
WITH HEART – Huge Away Win in Kamatero, 3–1 Over Kifisia!
REA made a
stunning return to winning ways, claiming an impressive away victory in
Kamatero, defeating Kifisia 3–1 for Matchday 7 of the Greek
Women’s First Division.
Our team
showed two different faces: a mediocre first half with limited
creativity and a spectacular second half, where REA completely
dominated, created numerous chances, and scored three beautiful goals. The
highlight of the match came from Ruzafa, who netted the goal of the
season in the 92nd minute with a sensational long-range strike from 40
meters!
REA started
the match nervously, lacking rhythm and intensity. Despite having a couple of
good moments through Ruzafa (16’, 35’), Kifisia came close in the 27th minute
with King, but Nikopoulou made a crucial goal-line clearance. The
goalless first half accurately reflected the balance of play.
The second
half, however, saw a completely transformed REA. In the 49th minute, Panteri
and Situma combined for a massive chance, but the breakthrough came at 55’.
After a brilliant dribble inside the box, Panteri earned a penalty from Goufa,
and Nigito made no mistake from the spot to give REA a 0–1 lead.
The
pressure continued, and in the 63rd minute, Kanellou doubled the
advantage after a perfect through ball from Kotsaki, finishing
clinically for 0–2 and putting REA firmly in control.
Kifisia
responded temporarily with a superb strike by King in the 70th minute (1–2),
but REA held strong and continued creating chances (72’, 76’, 83’, 86’) with Ruzafa,
Situma, and Kanellou all coming close to restoring the two-goal
cushion.
Then came the
magic moment in stoppage time: in the 92nd minute, Ruzafa noticed
the goalkeeper off her line and unleashed an extraordinary looping shot from
40 meters, sending the ball into the net and sealing the final 1–3
amid wild celebrations.
Next up,
REA will host the unbeaten league leaders PAOK at the Soxora Stadium,
in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.
