Our team
adds a promising goalkeeper (born June 20, 2002) with numerous accolades from
her collegiate career, officially beginning the 2025–26 transfer window with
the addition of Maeve English. Notably, she was the champion of the AAC last
season, serving as captain of East Carolina University (ECU).
Maeve was
born and raised in Greenville, North Carolina. She attended St. Peter's
Catholic School and D.H. Conley High School, where she was named “Defensive
Player of the Year” in 2019.
From 2020
to 2024, she was a key member of the ECU team, starting in nearly every match
and posting impressive statistics.
In 2024,
she was named the Most Outstanding Defensive Player of the AAC Tournament and
earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
In 2023,
she was selected for the All-AAC Second Team and was honored as ECU Female
Outstanding Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
In 2022,
she recorded seven shutouts, tying the fifth-best single-season record in ECU
history.
In 2021,
she was named AAC Goalkeeper of the Week three times—a record achievement for a
freshman.
She
finished her collegiate career with the most goalkeeper minutes in ECU history
(8,085 minutes), became the 25th goalkeeper in NCAA history to reach 8,000
minutes played, and made 294 career saves—ranking her third in ECU program
history and setting a new AAC record.
Maeve
English is a true example of athletic excellence and leadership, combining
success on the field with academic achievement. Her journey at ECU is an
inspiration to every young athlete striving to overcome obstacles and achieve
their goals—she is a born winner.
A.O. R.E.A.
welcomes Maeve English to the family and wishes her a healthy and successful
season.
