Rethymniaki
Enosi Athliton (R.E.A.) held its first full-roster training session yesterday
at the Sochora stadium, effectively marking the beginning of its preparation
for the new season in the Women’s A’ Division.
The entire coaching staff—Stelios Kozanidis, Antonis Platis, and Andreas
Drygiannakis—was present, along with all the team’s players.
Although
the official start of pre-season had taken place on Monday, August 18,
yesterday was the first time that all players, both returning and new, gathered
on the pitch. With the arrival of six foreign players, as well as all the Greek
athletes who will form the squad, REA is now complete and ready to work
intensively.
Specifically,
those who took part in yesterday’s session were: Maria Kelaidi, Kallia Vorras,
Dimitra Markoutsa, Stella Kotsaki, Christina Margariti, Glykeria Nikopoulou,
Sia Orfanoudaki, Angeliki Panteri, Eva Kapareli, Christina Kanellou, Topister
Situma, Maria Ruzafa, Lea Renoux, Anela Nigito, Yolanda Bonnin Rosello, Maeve
English, along with several academy players.
With fresh
energy and abundant talent, REA enters the new season aiming to remain
competitive and continue the tradition it has built over the years in the top
tier of Women’s Football.
Coach
Stelios Kozanidis spoke about this first start, stating:
“A new season begins today, one we expect to be even tougher and more
competitive. All teams have made remarkable efforts. We did everything possible
to bring in quality players and, combined with those who stayed, we will once
again build a competitive team that will fight for victory in every match. What
matters most is health, and I wish all teams a good season without injuries.
For us, REA
is now established in the Women’s league. Everything starts with planning and
organization; we never stray from our principles, and that’s what we’ll try to
show on the pitch. To maintain the image we have built and the respect we have
earned in Women’s Football.”
