AO REA announces the renewal of its cooperation with Dimitra
Markoutsa, who will continue to wear our team’s jersey during the 2026–27
season.
Dimitra Markoutsa is one of the players whose journey has
become fully connected with the modern history of REA. The 23-year-old
footballer (born on 10/2/2003) arrived in Rethymno in 2021 and since then has
grown alongside the team, becoming one of the most important and consistent
members of our squad. With passion, fighting spirit, and a strong personality
on the pitch, she stands out for her constant development. In recent years, she
has adapted perfectly to her role on the right side of the defense, consistently
delivering high-level performances and providing important solutions both
defensively and creatively.
AO REA wishes Dimitra Markoutsa health, strength, and even
more success, so that she may continue to develop and write her own special
journey together with our family.
DIMITRA MARKOUTSA: “REA IS SOMETHING MORE THAN JUST A
TEAM TO ME”
“The truth is that throughout all these years in Rethymno, I
have ‘built’ my life on many levels. Beyond the personal aspect, from a
football perspective I feel absolute trust in the plan and vision that Mr.
Iraklis Manoukarakis has for women’s football and for REA. He is a person who
truly wants the team to grow and move forward.
For me, REA is no longer simply a team, but something much
more. And as it seems, the time has not yet come for me to part ways with
Rethymno. I would like to thank the management and everyone involved with the
club for the trust they continue to show me for yet another year, and I hope
that in the new season we will once again be together… as a REA family.
I do not want to make big promises for the new season. I
know there will be changes, but if we remain united as a team, if we play with
passion and trust one another, I believe REA will once again be a team that
competes at the top and one that opponents will respect and fear.
I am optimistic, and above all I hope that we all stay
healthy so we can have an even better season than this year’s. I believe we
deserve to finish in the top three, not only us as players, but also all the
people in the management for the effort they put in every year for the team.
REA deserves it, and I hope that one day it will also manage to win a title.”
