SECOND
FRIENDLY, FIRST UNOFFICIAL GOALS FOR REA
REA played
its second friendly match as part of its pre-season preparations, facing WFU
Chania in a game that provided another strong training test for Giannas Douka side at Varypetrou Stadium.
REA secured
a comfortable victory, in a result that naturally carries little significance
given the difference in division between the two teams. What mattered more to
the coaching staff was the opportunity for the players to compete after another
period of demanding daily training, gaining valuable minutes of match action.
At the same
time, the match gave REA its first opportunity to find the back of the net this
season, albeit at an unofficial level. In fact, the goals came at a very high
frequency, with the team showing an attacking approach and producing several
good combinations.
Klingensmith
opened the scoring in just the 6th minute and doubled her tally a minute later,
capitalizing on a mistake by the opposing goalkeeper. Earlier, in the 4th
minute, Tougli had hit the post from inside the box, while in the 15th minute
Panteri also struck the crossbar.
REA
continued to find attacking solutions, with Situma scoring twice within a
minute (11’, 12’), following crosses from Plakia and Voria, respectively. In
the 24th minute, Klingensmith completed her hat-trick with a shot from outside
the box, while two minutes later Panteri added another goal to the scoreline.
Klingensmith scored her fourth of the match in the 35th minute following a
cross from Panteri, before Voria set the half-time score in the 44th minute
after an assist from Bonnin.
REA
continued at the same pace after the break. Markoutsa scored in the 51st and
60th minutes, while Bonnin found the net in the 53rd minute. Two goals from
Chau (63’, 68’) followed, with Situma adding another in the 65th minute after
an assist from Markoutsa.
