A.O. R.E.A.
is delighted to announce the renewal of its cooperation with Antonis Platis,
who will continue to be a key member of our club’s organization for a 6th
consecutive season.
Antonis
Platis will stand alongside the team’s new head coach, Gianna Douka, serving as
her direct associate while taking on a multidimensional and highly important
role for the operation and development of REA as Technical Director &
Scouting Coordinator, Academy Director, Goalkeeping Coach & Analyst.
REA’s
technical staff could not possibly be complete without a person who has
connected his name with the growth and development of Women’s Football in
Rethymno. Antonis Platis has been part of the REA family since the very first
day of the club’s creation and has contributed significantly on every level of
the organization, being one of the true cornerstones of this entire project.
With
professionalism and passion for his work, he has played a major role in the
development of many athletes, especially goalkeepers who have gone on to reach
the National Team level. At the same time, his presence as Academy Director
highlights the importance REA places on the development of Women’s Football at
youth level, with the aim of building an organization with both a strong
present and an even stronger future.
The entire
REA family wishes Antonis Platis health, strength, and even greater success
with our team.
ANTONIS
PLATIS: “ONLY UNITED CAN WE HELP REA GROW EVEN MORE”
“It is both
a blessing and a great responsibility for me to continue being part of
Rethymniaki Enosi Athliton. This club has been built on values, daily effort,
consistency, and hard work from everyone who belongs to the REA family.
I would
like to welcome our new head coach, Gianna Douka, and wish her health and many
successes with us. Her journey so far shows a person who is serious, humble,
and fully dedicated to her work. These are characteristics that perfectly match
REA’s philosophy and mentality.
At the same
time, I would like to thank and bid farewell to my friend Stelios Kozanidis for
everything he offered to the club throughout these years and wish him every
success in the next chapter of his career.
REA and its
administration need the support of everyone — the local community, the
Municipality, the Region, and all sports clubs of the city — so that the team
can continue to exist, evolve, and grow. Only united can we continue developing
this organization and make Rethymno proud.
Our goals
must be based on consistency, the right mentality, and hard work every single
day. We want a competitive team with identity, discipline, and a clear football
philosophy on the pitch.
A
particularly important objective for us is to strengthen even more the
connection between the first team and the Academy, as well as the continuous
development of our athletes, so that REA can keep building its future on solid
and healthy foundations.
On a
personal level, I want REA to continue the excellent tradition it has created
in developing high-level goalkeepers, with high standards, ambitious goals, and
even greater prospects.”
