A.O. R.E.A.
is delighted to announce the signing of Nanako Kobayashi, who becomes the
club’s first addition ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The
Japanese international footballer (born on 19/05/1997) plays primarily as a
centre-back, while she is equally capable of performing as a defensive
midfielder. She is a player with extensive experience, strong football
education, and valuable knowledge gained both abroad and in the Greek Women’s
First Division.
Nanako
Kobayashi stands out for her strong presence on the pitch, her excellent
understanding of the game, and her ability to build play effectively from the
back. She possesses leadership qualities, discipline, and a winning mentality,
characteristics that have established her as one of the most reliable defenders
for every team she has represented.
Last
season, she wore the captain’s armband for Nees Atromitou in the Greek Women’s
First Division, gaining valuable experience in Greek football. In the past, she
has also played for San Gwann FC and Birkirkara FC in Malta, where she won the
League, Cup, and Super Cup titles. She was also crowned league champion in
Japan with Socios FC and Waseda University.
In
addition, she has represented Japan at U13, U16, and U23 national team level,
winning the AFF Women’s Championship with the Japan U23 National Team.
The REA
family welcomes Nanako Kobayashi to Rethymno and wishes her health, strength,
and many successes wearing our club’s colours.
NANAKO
KOBAYASHI: “REA IS A CLUB WHERE I CAN CONTINUE TO GROW”
“*When I
played against REA last season, I immediately felt that it was a team with a
great atmosphere and very positive energy. At the same time, I was especially
interested in the opportunity to live and play football on the historic island
of Crete.*
*I
believe REA is a club where I can continue to develop both as a footballer and
as a person. I am excited to begin this new chapter and I look forward to
creating great memories and achieving important things together with the team.*
*My goal
is to help the team as a defender who can contribute not only defensively but
also in creating opportunities and even scoring goals when needed.*
*I want
to help REA achieve its objectives while playing attractive football that the
fans can enjoy and that can inspire the younger girls in the Academy to follow
their dreams*.”
